Ocular Visit at Park McKinley and Venice, Philippines
On June 6, 2025, our team conducted an ocular visit to two prime locations in the Philippines, Park McKinley and Venice. This visit is part of our ongoing efforts to expand and improve our YES! Free WiFi initiative, which aims to provide accessible and reliable internet connectivity to the public.
During the site inspection, we carefully evaluated strategic points across both areas to determine the most effective locations for router installation. The goal is to ensure strong signal coverage and maximum user accessibility, especially in high-foot-traffic zones such as parks, benches, public waiting areas, and common walkways.
Aside from the placement of routers, the team also took note of factors that could affect WiFi performance, such as physical obstructions, power source availability, and optimal mounting points to withstand outdoor conditions.
Why YES! Free WiFi Matters
The YES! Free WiFi project is more than just internet access, it's about empowering communities. Here are just a few benefits it brings:
- Improved access to information for students, job seekers, and entrepreneurs.
- Enhanced communication between individuals, families, and local organizations.
- Support for tourism by providing visitors with internet connectivity in public spaces.
- Digital inclusion that helps bridge the gap for those without personal internet access.
What’s Next?
This ocular visit is a key step toward our full deployment plan in these areas. With our technical assessment complete, the next phase will involve router installation and system testing to ensure seamless service.
We are excited to bring YES! Free WiFi closer to more communities and are committed to building a more connected and digitally inclusive Philippines.
Stay tuned for updates as we move forward!
